• Take ownership of production incidents, troubleshooting and system reliability

• Carry out backup and recovery testing and maintain appropriate disaster-recovery procedures

• Support security reviews and remediation of infrastructure-related issues

• Monitor cloud usage and costs and identify opportunities for optimisation

• Maintain clear technical documentation, infrastructure standards and operational runbooks

• Work independently and take ownership of the Azure platform as it develops

• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps

• Experience with Azure SQL and/or PostgreSQL in production

• Practical experience with Azure Key Vault and managed identities

• Experience with Azure App Service and/or Azure Container Apps

• Strong understanding of cloud security and access management

• Experience with Linux, Docker and Git

• Experience with Azure monitoring and observability

• Experience responding to and resolving real production incidents

• Strong written and spoken English

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of infrastructure rather than simply following predefined processes

Strongly Preferred

• Experience working within financial services or another regulated environment

• Experience with Azure Policy and/or Microsoft Defender for Cloud

• Experience supporting production migrations or data migrations

• Experience carrying out disaster-recovery or backup restoration exercises

• Experience with both Terraform and Bicep

• Experience with Azure Cost Management

• Experience working with Microsoft Graph

• Python and/or PowerShell experience

• Experience working as the primary infrastructure/cloud engineer within a small team

• Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-400, AZ-500 or AZ-104

This role is not primarily focused on:

• Front-end development

• React or other UI development

• Full-time application development

• Data science or machine learning

• AWS/GCP infrastructure

• Kubernetes/AKS as a primary specialism

• Database schema or product development

The strongest candidates will be Azure-focused infrastructure and platform engineers rather than application developers or Kubernetes specialists.

Working Arrangement

• Full-time, remote position

• Long-term opportunity with a UK-based organisation

• Minimum 4 hours of daily working-time overlap with UK business hours

• Strong written and spoken English required

What You’ll Get

• Salary: LKR 300,000–350,000 per month

• Fully remote working

• Opportunity to work with a UK financial services organisation

• Hands-on ownership of a modern Azure platform

• Exposure to infrastructure, cloud security, DevOps and production engineering

• Opportunity to work on a greenfield technology environment

• Long-term role with significant responsibility and autonomy

If you are an experienced Azure engineer who enjoys building secure, reliable infrastructure and taking genuine ownership of production systems, we would like to hear from you.
