- Work location: Rotterdam area, the Netherlands – four days in the office and one day from home

Bring your Cadmatic Hull expertise to a senior design role near Rotterdam, the Netherlands. As a Senior Structural Designer, you will create 3D hull models and AutoCAD 2D construction drawings while supporting the wider design team as a Cadmatic expert and technical point of contact. English is the working language, Dutch is optional, and relocation support is available for candidates moving to the Netherlands.
Where You’ll Work
You will join an offshore engineering team that develops designs for ships and offshore structures, including wind turbine installation vessels. Engineers, designers and project managers work closely to translate engineering requirements into accurate structural designs.
Cadmatic Hull is an important part of the design process. Alongside your own design scope, you will help ensure that projects are set up correctly, designers receive technical support, and models remain consistent and aligned with project requirements.

What You’ll Do
- Develop detailed 3D structural and hull models using Cadmatic Hull.
- Prepare accurate 2D construction drawings in AutoCAD.
- Execute assigned design scopes independently and coordinate the related technical interfaces.
- Ensure that models and drawings follow engineering input, internal standards, and customer requirements.
- Act as the technical point of contact for Cadmatic within the project team.
- Coach other designers, review their work, and provide practical technical guidance.
- Improve modelling methods, drawing quality, and design efficiency.
What You Bring
- A relevant technical qualification in Shipbuilding Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant structural design experience; candidates with 15 years or more are preferred.
- Hands-on proficiency in Cadmatic Hull and good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
- The ability to independently complete complex structural design scopes.
- Practical knowledge of ship structures, structural design principles and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of relevant offshore rules, regulations and technical standards.
- Experience designing offshore vessels would be an advantage.
- Experience with Rhinoceros would be useful.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Dutch language skills would be an advantage.
- An accurate and analytical approach, with the confidence to coordinate technical details with engineers, designers and project managers.
